How many salsa and bachata events are there in Spain each week?

Spain has about 890 Latin dance events a week: 412 socials, 501 classes and 14 congresses. Our October 2026 figures, by day of the week and by city.

The short answer

In a normal week Spain has around 890 salsa, bachata, kizomba and other Latin dance events, adding up to nearly 1,300 dates, because many of them run on several days. We counted them in the Dancetomic listings for the week of 12 to 18 October 2026.

Of those 890, 780 are regulars that repeat every week and 109 are one-off events: special parties, workshops and festivals.

What kind of events they are

There are 501 classes and 412 socials, which is what the parties where people go to dance are called. The two overlap a little, because many venues teach a class and then open the floor. On top of that there were 24 nights with live music and 14 congresses or festivals.

By style, bachata shows up in 564 events, salsa in 409, Cuban salsa in 231 and kizomba in 97. A single social usually plays several styles, so these numbers do not add up to the total.

Which day has the most socials

Counting social nights, Friday is the busiest day with 116. Sunday follows with 110 and Saturday with 100. Weeknights are quieter but never empty: 59 on Monday, 38 on Tuesday, 56 on Wednesday and 68 on Thursday.

Classes work the other way round and cluster from Monday to Thursday. We explain it in what days people go dancing.

Where they are

There were events in dozens of provinces, but two cities take more than half. Barcelona had over 260 events that week and Madrid had 219. Behind them come Valencia with 78, Alicante with 42 and Málaga with 28.

Outside those cities, the usual picture is something nearby one or two days a week rather than every night.

How much a social costs

Among the socials that publish a price, the typical entry is 10 euros, and half of them charge between 9 and 15 euros. There were also 64 free socials, many of them outdoors or in bars that only charge for drinks.

Where these figures come from

They are the events published on Dancetomic, which collects every day what venues, schools and organisers announce. There may be events we do not have, so the real figure is the same or higher. To see this week in your city, open the listings; for the big ones of the year, festivals in Spain.
