Bachata Training

This wasn’t supposed to be a video. Last Sunday, 10 leads showed up to train with me. No performance. No choreography. No matching outfits. Just one hour dedicated to footwork, body movement, and learning how to move with more confidence in our bachata. At the end of class, one of them asked, “Can we record it?” And I loved that and everyone was on board. So we made some space, found our windows, turned on the camera… and this happened. I’m proud of these guys. Not because everything was perfect, but because they showed up. On a Sunday, when they could have been doing a hundred other things, they chose to TRAIN. To explore their movement. To challenge themselves. To become better dancers. I believe leads need more spaces like this in Houston. A space where we can work on our footwork and body movement. Where we can explore our masculine energy without feeling like we have to prove anything. Where we can build confidence in our bodies, trust our movement, and push each other forward. There was something really special about looking around that room and seeing 10 leads doing exactly that together. I’d love to keep creating spaces like this for leads in Houston. We’ll train again in November, and I’ll share the date soon. For now, I just wanted to share this moment and say how proud I am of these guys 👊🏽 Hopefully we keep building this together.
